HOW TO OBTAIN A
LIBRARY CARD at no Charge
You must reside in the City
limits of Washington or reside in a contractual township (Bogard, Elmore, Steele, Veale)
If you own property in one
of the above mentioned areas, you must bring in a tax statement with
you for proof.
You must show a photo ID
and something with proof of current address to receive a
library card. You must also fill out the patron application card in its

Your first library card is
free, if it is lost you must pay according to the replacement card
schedule (ranging from $1 - $4)
RESPONSIBILITIES OF LIBRARY CARD OWNERSHIP
You must have your library card with you to check out
You should inform us if you have a change of name or
address. Your card will be updated at no charge.
You are responsible for the care and return of all items
checked out on your card.
You are responsible for notifying the library if your
card is lost or stolen. If not reported, you are responsible for
materials checked out on your card.
Do not loan your card to friends...you are responsible
for all items checked out on your card.
Reciprocal Borrowing, Paid Cards and
WCPL is a
member of the Statewide Reciprocal Borrowing Covenant. Persons
holding a card from a member library may apply for a WCPL card.
Bring your home library card with you and follow the WCPL library
card procedure. Reciprocal borrowers are limited to checking out

member of a Statewide Reciprocal Borrowing Library must have a
