STEMspiration: Change the Equation, Washington Carnegie Public Library’s after-school program, featuring activities that engage grades K – 12 in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
STEMspiration begins August 13 with a Meet and Greet! Come meet our STEM coordinator Cailey Julian, check out the STEM lab and register for programs from 3:30-7:30 and register for programs.
Our goals for this program are simple; we want youth to like STEM topics, to know that they can be a scientist, engineer, or mathematician, and to value STEM as it pertains to many aspects of their lives. STEMspiration will be open to grades K-12 and we will have a weekly program for each grade grouping; K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The programs will be tailored to each age group, so that younger children will be more supervised and teens will be allowed more freedom to experiment. Library cards are not needed to attend library programs or use the STEM lab so students from the entire county are welcome to participate.
